Club Notes - 6th February

Jack The Joker
No. Drawn - 15
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in Kennedy’s Live where the Jackpot will be €7,798 as on Sunday night Nora Walsh was drawn out of the drum but did not find the Joker, however she did win €50, while Ned Keane and Paula Dunne won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.

Club Bingo
Our Bingo continues this Sunday night when we will return to our normal venue of the CBS Hall where the jackpot is €950.

Minor Football
Our minor footballers get their County Championship campaign underway this Sunday morning as they take on The Nire at 12 pm in the Mill Field.

Inter County Activity
On Sunday last Waterford Senior Footballers recorded a great win over Clare in their first game of the National League in Miltown Malbay. Representing our club on the team were Stephen Enright, Shane Briggs, John and Patrick Hurney while Sean O’Hare is also on the panel. This Saturday night they take on Tipperary in Fraher Field.

Fitzgibbon Cup
On Thursday last WIT defeated Carlow IT in the Fitzgibbon Cup and Maurice Power was introduced as a sub in the second half for WIT who went on to record a four point victory. We wish them the best of luck in the next round.

Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the Club Committee will take place this Thursday night at 8pm in the Club Grounds.

Club Pitch
All managers are asked to note that the main club pitch remains closed and managers are asked to ensure that they have booked the training pitch before arranging training. We would ask that managers arranging Challenge games would book the field at least five days in advance with Michael O’Donovan.

Membership
Membership fees are now due and can be paid to Jonathan O’Donovan or Kevin Tobin or indeed any member of the club committee. We would ask that all players make an effort to pay their membership as soon as possible as training has now resumed with a number of Championships beginning in the next number of weeks.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to send our sympathies to the members of Tourin GAA Club and especially all the family and friends of the late John Joe Scanlon who passed away recently.
