U14 Football
Well
done to the U14 footballers who qualified for the county final after a hard
earned but deserved victory over a very good Rathgormack outfit in Abbeyside on
Saturday March 2nd. With
the U14 competition knockout this year this could have been our one and only
fixture in this grade, therefore we have entered a second team in the U15
championship. Playing with the wind in the 1st half we got off to a flyer,
scoring 1-2, but then Rathgormack got going and at half time we were only a
point to the good, 1-3 to 1-2. We started the 2nd half well, but again
Rathgormack clawed us back & went three up, but our lads took over in the
last 10 minutes to win on a scoreline of 3-7 to 3-4. We meet old rival Gaultier
in the final on April 20th. We start the U15 football
championship next before we have the Féile football qualifying at the end of
the month.
