Academy Update
Our academy is still in full swing, bringing joy and excitement to all involved. The "Well Kids" programme was a great success, filled with fun, exercise, and engaging activities, and the kids were thrilled to receive jerseys as a bonus.
The U7's had a fantastic time playing a very enjoyable hurling blitz in Lismore, while the U9's travelled to Kill and gave a fantastic account of themselves in the blue and gold of Abbeyside.
The U10's were also on the road, with two teams playing matches in Tramore, showcasing their skills and teamwork. It's been a wonderful week of sports and camaraderie for our young athletes!

Abbeyside Claim U12 James O’Brien Cup in Midleton
Abbeyside’s U12 hurlers produced a display of outstanding teamwork and determination to capture the 2025 James O’Brien Cup in Park South, Midleton, on Sunday, August 31st
Facing strong opposition from Éire Óg, Midleton, and Erin’s Own, the Abbeyside panel showed resilience and collective spirit throughout the group stages, with every player contributing to the team’s success. Their ability to combine skill with relentless work-rate brought them through to the final, where once again teamwork proved decisive.
Well done boys!!

U14 Hurling
Our U14 hurlers are preparing to play Clonea Power in the division 1 plate final this Thursday. Time and venue to be confirmed. Best of luck boys.

U16 Hurling
After an epic battle last Monday (1st Sept), our U16 hurlers bowed out of the championship at the semi final stage against Roanmore. Unusually for a county semi final, it was a home fixture for our opponents, but the Abbeyside boys didn’t let this affect them and the put in a very spirited performance, full of fast hurling and intensity with a goal separating the teams at the final whistle. It was great to see a good crowd travelling down from the village to support the boys and everyone was in agreement that the boys gave their all and the result could easily have been different.
It's on to football for this group now with the championship starting this coming Sunday – best of luck boys!
