Our Bingo continues this Sunday night in the CBS Hall where the jackpot is €400.

Membership
Membership fees are now due and can be paid to Jonathan O’Donovan or Kevin Tobin or indeed any member of the club committee. We would ask that all players make an effort to pay their membership as soon as possible as training has now resumed with a number of Championships beginning in the next number of weeks.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to send our sympathies to the family and friends of the late Mrs. Noonan, Dungarvan who passed away recently. Club players Eammon, Thomas and Philip Cashin and Ruairi Conway are all grandsons of Mrs. Noonan and both the Cashin and Conway families are great supporters of the club. We would also like to send our sympathies to the family and many friends of the late Alice Strain, Colligan who was killed so tragically last week. Alice is a sister of Vera Collins whose sons David and Evan play for the club whilst her husband Michael continues to give great service to the club. We once again send our sympathies to all of Alice’s family and friends on their terrible loss.

Juvenile Notes - 10th April

Under 11 - 12
Our Under 11 hurlers played there first league game last Friday night against Ring. It is early in the season so we were a bit rusty but played better hurling as the game advanced. We have games every second Friday in the Town & Country League for the next number of weeks.
Our under 12 hurlers also played against Ring last Monday night and again we needed the game, we are also out this Friday in the league.

Outdoor Training
Training outdoors returns next Saturday morning at 10:30 to 12:00 at the club grounds for under fives right through to under tens.

Colleges Hurling
History was made in Semple Stadium Thurles on Saturday when Dungarvan Colleges claimed a very first All Ireland A Hurling title when they overcame CBS Kilkenny. Our club men on the day were in the goal Laurence Power and full back Brian Looby and on the panel were Eamon Crotty Conor Prunty and Sean Daly.
Best of luck to the CBS Dungarvan as they play on Sunday next in the All Ireland Colleges B Final.

Membership
Again we ask all players who have not paid there membership yet to do so as soon as possible. This is vital as no player will be insured until this is paid.

Under 16
We played our first game in the under 16 hurling championship last Monday week. We travelled to Ballyduff Lower for this game and came up against very strong home side. We battled very hard throughout but unfortunately were defeated on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-8.

Under 14
Congratulations to all involved with the under14 football squad on winning the Feile Western title on Wednesday night last. This was a good game of football and our opponents St. Pats played excellently throughout and were unlucky not to go in ahead at the break. Ballinacourty however upped their performance in the second half and came away with victory on a score line of ten points to three. They now go on to play Gaultier in the County Feile Football Final and we wish them all the best of luck.

This Monday coming we have a bye and the next match to be played in this championship will be at home to De La Salle on Thursday, 11th April.

Congratulations and the Best of Luck
Heartiest congratulations to everyone involved with the Friary College on their All Ireland victory last weekend. This was a very battling performance which was played in Newbridge in County Kildare. The final score was 2 -8 to 0-10. This is a tremendous achievement for all involved because All Ireland medals in football in Waterford are rare. A special word must be given to our own players involved on the team who are namely Michael Maher, Conor Prunty, Kevin Dwane, Eoin Kiely, Kevin Dee, Eamonn Crotty and specially Brian Looby who captained the team. It is heart warming to see so many of our players with these coveted medals at such a young age.
It is for some of these players however straight back into action this weekend in the pursuit of another All Ireland medal, this time on the hurling field. We would like to wish Colaiste Dun Garbhain the very best of luck in the All Ireland Croke Cup Final at Thurles this weekend. This is colleges hurling of the highest standard and the skill levels this team have shown from the beginning of the year has been remarkable and hopefully they can finish the job this weekend. Support would be greatly appreciated. The players on this panel from Abbeyside are Brian Looby, Eamonn Crotty, Sean Daly, Conor Prunty and Laurance Power.

Get Well Soon
Everyone in the club wishes Eoin Kiely a speedy recovery after breaking his ankle playing for The Friary at the weekend. Eoin is a very talented hurler and footballer and we hope to see him running around again soon.
