Camogie Notes - 28th August


All-Ireland Champions
On behalf of all in the club we would like to congratulate the Waterford Under 16 Camogie team on their victory in the All Ireland final on Sunday.  We would especially like to congratulate our own Aoibhín O'Grady on winning an All Ireland medal.

Camogie Notes - 6th March


Medal Presentation
We recently held our medal presentation night for our U13C county final winning team. The night started with a very enjoyable run through of the year from our chairperson Michelle. We had the pleasure of having Waterford Senior Camogie player Lorraine Bray to present the medals to the girls. We then had a question and answer session with Lorraine followed by refreshments. A big thank you to everyone who helped out on the night.

Camogie Notes - 14th November


County Champions
On Saturday last our Under 13 camogie team recorded a fantastic victory over Tallow in the County Final.  This was a wonderful achievement by all of the girls on the panel and their mentors.  We say well done to them all and look forward to seeing them winning many more county titles in the years ahead.

AGM
Our Camoige club AGM will take place in the club grounds on Monday November 26th at 8pm and we ask all those with an interest in promoting Camoige in the parish to attend.

Congratulations
We also would like to congratulate Dearbhla Beresford on making the Waterford Minor Camogie Team. Dearbhla is the first girl to represent our club at this level. This was also the club’s first year fielding a Minor Team.

Congratulations
We would like to acknowledge and congratulate our members Hannah Walsh and Aoibhin O Grady on their achievements at County Level.  Hannah was on the panel while her father Richie was part of the management team for the Under 16 Waterford Camogie team who won the Munster Championship. Aoibhin O Grady was a member of the All Ireland Division B Under 14 team and she recently received her medal from Niamh Rockett and Beth Carton.

Camogie Notes - 26th September


U8
Our under 8 girls travelled to Mount Sion to take part in the inaugural Danny Bowe Camogie tournament. The girls won all of their games, and displayed fantastic skill and determination throughout. We played against Mooncoin in the Cup Final and won the Cup. The girls were delighted to be presented with their medal by Austin Gleeson. Well done to all of the girls!

Camogie Notes - 17th May

Sponsored Walk
We recently held our annual sponsored walk from Clonea to Ballinacourty. We had a fantastic turn out from our players and their families. All money raised will be put to good use for our players.

U14
To date we have played five of our six group matches. This group of girls are working hard and as a result are playing very well together. Keep it up girls.

U10
Our under 10s recently travelled to Tallow for their first blitz of the year where we had a very enjoyable day out. Thanks goes to anyone who helped out on the day.

Training

Camogie Notes - 26th April

Training
Training continues on Friday nights from 6 pm. It is great to see such a fantastic turn out each week. Well done to all those who help out.

U14
Well done to our under 14's on a good win in Tallow in their first championship game of the year. We were due to play Ferrybank / Butlerstown for our second game last night Tuesday the 25th at home. Results to follow.

U12
Our under 12's travelled to Lismore for a blitz on Saturday morning last. On a lovely sunny morning we had some lovely skilful and energetic camogie on display. Well done to all involved on the day.

Sponsored Walk
Our sponsored walk will take place on Monday May 1st. The girls will be walking from Clonea to Ballinacourty. This is an important event to raise much need funds for the girls so please support in any way possible.

Camogie Notes - 12th April

Training
Training continues on Friday nights at 6pm for under U6, U8, U10, U12 and U13s. It is great to see so many new faces every week, new members are always welcome. Please return registration forms as soon as possible to make sure your child is insured. Helmets can now be purchased from the club, enquiries to any of our coaches. Training for U14 and U16 continues on Thursday nights at 7pm.

Under 14
Our Under 14 Championship was due to get underway last night Tuesday 11th away to Tallow, results to follow.

Easter Camp
Waterford Camogie are running an Easter camp in our club grounds on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th of April from 10am to 1pm. The camp is open to all girls aged between 8/14, price of the camp is €25, to sign up contact Fiona Morrissey 0861793669 or Elena Carmody on 0877379634.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
We had a fantastic turn out for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. A big thank you must go to the girls and boys for making such a great effort at dressing up in their club colours and singing their hearts out for the whole of the walk / jog. Thanks also must go to the coaches and parents for helping out on the day. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Training
Training continues this Friday night from 6pm until 7pm for U6, U8, U10, U12 and U13s. Registration forms can be returned on the night. New members are always welcome. Training continues for U14 /U16 on Thursday nights at 7 pm.

Camogie Notes - 15th March

Training
We had a fantastic turn out for our first night of training on Friday night. It was great to see the club grounds a hive of activity with all the different age groups, the rain held off long enough for us to get some training in.  Our next night of training is Friday, 24th March from 6pm until 7pm for U6, U8, U10, U12 and U13.  New members always welcome. This Friday is St. Patrick’s Day so there will be no training. We are walking in the parade with the boys so we are hoping to have as many kids as possible join us. We are meeting at Nugents Centra at 2:30 pm and please wear your Camoige half zip tops or blue and yellow tops.

2017 Season
The 2017 season is about to get underway, and our coaches and mentors are looking forward to another great year of fun and games ahead. Training kicks off on Friday the 10th of March from 18.00 to 19.00 for U6, U8, U10, U12, U13. New members are always welcome and this is a fun way for girls to be active and make new friends. Training continues for U14 / U16 on Thursday nights from 19.00 to 20.00. We will be walking in this year's St Patrick's Day Parade so get your Abbeyside colours ready. Camogie Notes - 3rd August

Under 12 County Final
We were narrowly defeated by a strong Dungarvan side in the Under 12 County Final on Saturday morning last in Fraher Field. Our girls lost nothing in defeat and played with great spirit throughout. The only team to beat us in this competition were in fact Dungarvan who also beat us in the league stages. The final was a great occasion with two sets of vociferous supporters adding greatly to the atmosphere. Thanks to our supporters who came out in great numbers.

Camogie Notes - 6th July

Féile 2016
The recent Féile was a great success and really put our young club on the map in the best way possible. Well done to all who worked so hard in making it such a success. Thanks to the families who hosted the girls from Mayo, the members who worked on the organising committee, Abbeyside Juvenile Club for their cooperation throughout and last but certainly not least our own Under 14 panel who did us proud by the exemplary behaviour and attitude. A special thank you to Richie Walsh and Pat Earley who work so hard with this team and to Michelle Kiely who looks after First Aid at all our matches.

Under 12
Our girls have reached the final of the B section with wins over An Rinn, Clonea, Tallow and Tramore. We lost to a strong Dungarvan side who we will now meet in the final.

Munster Final
Good luck to Waterford in the Munster Final and congratulations to Ellen Power who takes part in the Primary Game, which is a much deserved honour for her.

Camogie Notes - 15th June

U14
On Saturday last our girls took part in the County Final in Fraher Field against a very strong Ring side who had been unbeaten in the championship. The girls fought very hard throughout the game and never gave up but for the gallant efforts of number 1 to 15 and the substitutes on the day their defeat could have been heavier.

U12
Our U12s got their championship off to a winning start last Tuesday evening when they defeated Ring in a warm & sunny Abbeyside. This Tuesday evening they travel to Clonea Power for a 7:00 pm throw in.

U6 to U 12
Please take note there will be no training this Friday evening the 17th due to the Féile. Training will return to normal the following Friday at 6:00.

Féile
Féile gets underway on Friday evening with Brideoga due to arrive in Abbeyside at 3:00pm. We then make the short journey to Dungarvan Club Grounds to play our first game against Lacken at 4:30 and at 5:30 we take on Dungarvan. On Saturday morning at 11:30 we play Brideoga at home in Abbeyside. This has the makings of a very good weekend. The girls would love your support, so come on out and get behind our girls.

Camogie Notes - 8th June

Golden Goal
Money for golden goals is now overdue please return money's ASAP to Ritchie. The official time for golden goal was 3 minutes 29 seconds, if you know or have this winning time contact Richie Walsh or Ian Kiely to claim the prize.

U14
Our U14s finished off their championship last Tuesday evening in a very warm sunny Abbeyside with a comprehensive win over Cappoquin on a score line of Abbeyside 5-7 Cappoquin 1-01. This earned them a place in the Co. final v Ring. Time and venue to be confirmed.

U12
U12 championship gets underway this Tuesday in Abbeyside where our girls take on Ring in the first round.

U8/U10
Our U8 & U10 make the short trip to Bushy Park on Saturday next to take part in their blitz. Girls will be contacted re time to be in Bushy Park.

Féile
Final countdown to Féile is well and truly on. It will be all hands on deck on and before the weekend of the 17th June when we host Brideoga of Mayo, we ask all that can to lend a hand over the days, and also to come out and support the girls in their games.

Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve.
