Club Notes - 28th March


Jack The Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Alice O’Connors Bar where the jackpot is €9000 as on Sunday night Lois and Chopper were drawn out of the drum and chose card number 33 which when turned was not the joker but they did win €50. Kevin and Jonathan and Mary Kiely won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar, Abbeyside Post Office and Crotty’s Bar.

Senior Hurling
On Saturday last we recorded our first win in the County league when we defeated My Sion in the Gold Coast on a scoreline of 2:17 to 1:15. This Sunday we get our championship campaign underway when we take on Ballygunner at 3:30 in Fraher Field.

Junior Hurling
This Sunday morning our Junior C hurlers play their first game in the Western Championship when they play Clashmore in Ardmore at 11:30.

As our teams return to training we would like to remind all our coaches to please ensure that they book the pitches with Michael Donovan before training.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo session continues in the CBS Hall this Sunday night with a jackpot of €1900.

Club Notes - 21st March


Jack The Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Alice O’Connor’s Bar where the jackpot is €8800 as on Monday night James, Joey and Jack were drawn out of the drum and chose card number 20 which when turned was not the joker but they did win €50. Michael Hearne and Patrick O'Brien won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar, Abbeyside Post Office and Crotty’s Bar.

Under 21 Football
Our Under 21 footballers were due to take on The Nire on St Patrick’s morning in the semi final of the County Championship but unfortunately our opponents could not field on the day so we now advance to the County Final.

Senior Hurling
On Monday last we began our County League campaign with a most disappointing performance against Passage where we lost by 1:16 to 1:03. This Thursday night we play Mt Sion in Abbeyside at 8pm.

Club Notes - 14th March


Jack The Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Alice O’Connor’s Bar where the jackpot is €8600 as on Sunday night Michael Fraher was  drawn out of the drum and chose card number 1 which when turned was not the joker but he did win €50. Colin Dunne and Eamonn Power won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar, Abbeyside Post Office and Crotty’s Bar.

Senior Football
On Friday night last our Senior Footballers got their Senior league campaign underway when they recorded a very good win over Killrossanty in Leamybrien on a scoreline of 0:13 to 0:03.

Under 21 Football
Our under 21 footballers got their season off to a winning start on Sunday morning when they defeated Comeragh Gaels in the Gold Coast. This weekend they take on The Nire in semi finals on Saint Patrick's morning at 11:30 am.

Last Man Standing
Our last man standing fundraiser continued last weekend after which we have 190 people left out of the 714 who began on week one.  We would like to thank all those who entered and a big thanks to Willow and Oak for their generous sponsorship.

Our under 21 footballers put their County title on the line this Sunday morning when they play Comeragh Gaels at 11:30 in the Gold Coast.

Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
