Western U20 'A' Hurling Champions
Well done to our U20 hurlers and management team on their 1-18 to 1-10 victory over Fourmilewater in the Western 'A' Championship Final in Fraher Field on Friday night. The win secured our seventh successive divisional title at this age grade and qualifies us for the County Final which will take place in a few weeks’ time.

U13 Update
Well done to the six boys from this years U13 panel who have been selected for the 2024 U14 county development panels.
Rian Cliffe, Dara Byrne, Fionn Connolly, Fionnán Murray have been selected for both hurling and football, Natanas Lunskis for football & Killian Hagan for hurling.
The boys have progressed through our academy structure over the years and have always shown commitment and dedication to their team mates and their club. It's great to see this recognised.
Well done boys and good luck!

U14 Footballers Get Political!
Our U14 footballers travelled to Cork on Sunday morning where they played Nemo Rangers on the astroturf in Pairc Uí Caoimh.  It was a really well contested game with our boys mixing it well with Nemo while our current Tánaiste and former Taoiseach, Micheal Martin, watched on from the sideline.  He was kind enough to have a few nice words of encouragement for our boys but made a quick exit when they began to question him on whether we’ll have a general election in 2024!!!

Camogie News
U13 ‘A’ Cup Winners, a First ‘A’ County Final for Abbeyside Camogie!
Saturday brought the long-awaited U13 ‘A’ Cup final between Abbeyside and De La Salle at the SETU arena.  Both teams were anticipating a hard-fought game after Abbeyside lost to De La Salle earlier in the year in another close encounter in the A league championship and it certainly lived up to the anticipation.  Right from the start you could see the fight and determination from the two teams, both going full belt into every aspect of the game.

Abbeyside came out on top in the first half duel, and this continued early into the second half.   Then the fight back came from De La Salle, which just saw them coming up short to the gutsy and determined Abbeyside team, both in the defence and attack.

This was an excellent match which was full of skill from both sides that went right down to the wire. All the girls put in a tremendous effort in an exciting and well fought county final.  In the end it was victory for Abbeyside, with a scoreline of Abbeyside 2-4, De La Salle 1-5.

This was also Abbeyside Camogie’s first ever ‘A’ cup win!!  A fantastic credit to this bunch of girls who are great ambassadors for the club.  We are so proud of each and every one of them throughout the extended panel as they all played their part on this journey.

A special work of thanks to their coaches, and their parents and guardians for all their support. Our great club is going from strength to strength!

Thanks also to De La Salle for a great sporting game of camogie, to SETU Arena and Waterford camogie and to the spectators on the day!

Camogie News
U-15 Camogie County final – a game of two halves!
Our U-15 girls lined out against a determined and strong Butlerstown side in their county final at the weekend. The girls faced a big challenge in the first half after a few Butlerstown goals, and were down by 13 points at half time.

After an honest chat at half time by their coach PJ, there was fires in their hearts and what a second half they had to hold Butlerstown scoreless … despite that they bowed out losing the game but doing themselves proud with the heart, determination and pure grit they displayed in the second half!

Many a team would have dropped the heads but well done to this fantastic group, you never gave up!

It's important this group keep up this effort, as they are getting so close, keep going at camogie girls and your day will come!!!

Well done girls, you were not winners on the day, but you are winners to us.
