Club Notes - 16th December

All Ireland Final
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be our day last Sunday in Croke Park. The team gave it their all but came up against a stronger Limerick team on the day. That being said each and every one of those involved can take massive pride in their achievements this year. It was a bright light in an otherwise dark year and certainly for those of us in Waterford the joy of seeing our team competing at the top table again certainly shortened the winter. We are immensely proud of every player, the management and the support team. Of course here in Abbeyside Ballinacourty we are especially proud of our own lads Conor and Neil. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the joy and entertainment you gave us these past 3 months. We go again next year and hopefully we can reach the summit.

Minor Intercounty
We also had a number of players involved in provincial semi final last weekend. Regretfully the results didn’t go our way but once again the lads put in good performances. On the hurling we had Conor Kent, Charlie Treen, Willie Beresford, Sean O Callaghan and Sean Lanigan involved whilst David Byrne was with the Footballers. Hard luck lads, there will be better days ahead.

Deise Draw 2020
The next draw will take place on this coming Friday the 18th December.

National Draw
Tickets are now available from any committee member. Please if you can purchase a ticket as 100% of the funds earned will go to the club.

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. John Hickey was drawn and picked number 14. When turned this was not the The Joker, but he did win €50. Geraldine Briggs and Tony Elstead won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €1,500.

Club Notes - 9th December

All Ireland Final
On Sunday next Waterford will contest the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final for only the 9th time in our history. Although we can’t there it is and occasion for us all to savour. Especially given the fact there are 2 club players who have played integral roles in the success of the team to date. It will be something special to see an Abbeyside man leading the team out and we’d like to wish Conor, Neil and all involved the very best of luck. You’ll have thousands with you in spirit even if we can’t be there in person.

Deise Draw 2020
The latest draw took place on Wednesday last and there was 1 club winner, Niamh & Mark McGrath who won €250. The next draw will take place on 18th December. As this is one of our primary fundraising streams, we’d appeal to all our members and supporters to purchase a ticket from any committee member or promoter if you haven’t already done so.
