Club Notes - 16th December

All Ireland Final
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be our day last Sunday in Croke Park. The team gave it their all but came up against a stronger Limerick team on the day. That being said each and every one of those involved can take massive pride in their achievements this year. It was a bright light in an otherwise dark year and certainly for those of us in Waterford the joy of seeing our team competing at the top table again certainly shortened the winter. We are immensely proud of every player, the management and the support team. Of course here in Abbeyside Ballinacourty we are especially proud of our own lads Conor and Neil. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the joy and entertainment you gave us these past 3 months. We go again next year and hopefully we can reach the summit.

Minor Intercounty
We also had a number of players involved in provincial semi final last weekend. Regretfully the results didn’t go our way but once again the lads put in good performances. On the hurling we had Conor Kent, Charlie Treen, Willie Beresford, Sean O Callaghan and Sean Lanigan involved whilst David Byrne was with the Footballers. Hard luck lads, there will be better days ahead.

Deise Draw 2020
The next draw will take place on this coming Friday the 18th December.

National Draw
Tickets are now available from any committee member. Please if you can purchase a ticket as 100% of the funds earned will go to the club.

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. John Hickey was drawn and picked number 14. When turned this was not the The Joker, but he did win €50. Geraldine Briggs and Tony Elstead won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €1,500.

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.

Strategic Plan
Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
