Club Notes - 26th June


Jack the Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Minnies Bar where the jackpot is €9200 as on Sunday night Anthony Whelan was drawn out of the drum and chose card number 31 which when turned was not the joker but he did win €50.  Anthony Morrissey and Bernard Troy won €25 each.

Senior Hurling
On Saturday evening last we recorded our second win in the County Championship when we defeated Mt Sion by two points in Walsh Park.

On Thursday night last we played Kilrossanty in Fraher Field in our third game of the Western Championship where we maintained our winning run with a good performance.

This Saturday we play The Nire in the County League in Abbeyside at 7pm.

Junior C Hurling
Our Junior C hurlers continue with their championship campaign on Friday night when they take on Kilgobnet in Kilgobnet.

Our club bingo continues in the CBS Hall this Sunday night where the jackpot is €700.

Club Notes - 19th June


Jack the Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Minnies Bar where the jackpot is €9000 as on Sunday night Sandra Cliffe was drawn out of the drum and chose card number 37 which when turned was not the joker but she did win €50.  Anthony Morrissey and Cossie, Packie, Conor and Briggsy won €25 each.

Senior Hurling
On  Friday night last  our Senior hurlers played Dungarvan in the County League in Dungarvan where the game not alone doubled up for the Johnny Murphy Cup, but it was also a fundraiser for two worthy causes namely St John's Special School and Post Heart Bypass Rehab. On the night Dungarvan were much the better side and we congratulate them on their win and say well done to all in Dungarvan GAA Club for the efficient way the night was organised.

Juvenile Notes - 19th June


Under 14
The Abbeyside U14 panel took part in a hurling blitz on Saturday June 15th at Carriganore. They played 3 games against Moyle Rovers, St Molleran's & Portlaw/Ballyduff. Tonight (Wednesday, June 19th) the lads come up against Lismore in the U14 County Semi-Final at 7pm in Lismore.

On this Friday night June 14th our Senior hurlers play Dungarvan in the County League in Dungarvan at 7:30pm. The game is also a fundraiser for two worthy causes namely St John’s Special School and Post Heart Bypass Rehab. Admission on the night is €5 and we ask all our supporters to please support these worthy causes.

Our Junior championship match against Kilgobnet last weekend was postponed due to a bereavement in the Kilgobnet club.

On behalf of all in the club we would like to send our sympathies to the family and friends of the late John Kelleher, Abbeyside who passed away last week.

Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
