Jack The Joker
No. Drawn - 29
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €2,630 as on Sunday night Claire Walsh was drawn out of the drum but did not find the Joker, however she does win €50 while Martina Power and Anthony Carroll won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.

Intermediate Football
On Saturday afternoon last our Intermediate Footballers qualified for the Western Final thanks to a hard earned victory over Sliabh gCua in the excellently appointed Bushy Park grounds. The team played some excellent football at times to lead for the majority of the game but a strong finish by our opponents meant there were some nervous moments before John Condon’s final whistle which saw us emerge victorious on a score of 0:13 to 2:03.
TEAM: R. RYAN, D. HENLEY, J. MOORE, B. LOOBY, N. DEE, T. HANRAHAN, D. COLLINS, R. DUNFORD, C. KEANE, S. CROTTY, A. LANDERS, S. DELAHUNTY, S. O’DONOVAN, L. HURNEY, E. COLLINS.

Senior Football
Following the victory of our Intermediate’s our supporters made the short trip into Fraher Field to see our Senior Footballers take on Ring in the quarter final of the County Championship. This game was similar to the Intermediate game as despite leading for much of the game we had to withstand a strong finish by Ring to qualify for the County Semi Final on a score of 1:13 to 2:07. Our opponents in the Semi Final will be Stradbally.
TEAM: S. ENRIGHT, M. LAVAN, J. PHELAN, M. POWER, R. FOLEY, P. LYNCH, C. MOLONEY, S. O’HARE, S. BRIGGS, M. GORMAN, M. FIVES, J. O’BRIEN, M. FERNCOMBE, P. HURNEY, G. HURNEY.

Juvenile Notes - 26th September

Under 13 & 14
Last week saw the county final in U14 Div. 4. We took on St. Mollerans in the Fraher Field, who we had already in the group fixture. It proved to be a very tight game and the lads did brilliantly to come out with a 4-11 to 4-5 win. It has been a great year for our U14 teams with our Div. 1 team losing out in a county semi final to De La Salle.
This Saturday a lot of our boys will be in action again; this time it is U13 county final day. Our boys had a great win in the Western Final over a gallant Dungarvan side. We will be taking on De La Salle. Of course a lot of the boys lost out to the De La Salle in the U14 semi final and will be hoping to go one better this time. The game takes place at 11.45 in the Fraher Field this Saturday. The division 3 final will be one before us and we will be followed by the division 2 final. All support on the day will be greatly appreciated.

Panel: Seamus Ryan, Aaron Beresford, Jack Kiely, James Beresford, Padraig Moore, Bearach Moore, Gearoid Hallinan, Tom Looby, Neil Montgomery, Ryan Daly, Darragh McGrath, Tony Collins, Sean Whelan Barrett, Sean Crotty, David Montgomery, Mark Twomey, Fionn Gibson Kiely, Patrick Power. John Power, Jack Dwane, Paddy Dwane, Cian Power, Meldan Dwyer, Jamie Walsh, Tommy Walsh, Paul Wade, Michael O’Riordan, James Riordan, Daithi Brunnock, Johnny Treen, Michael Kiely, Dean Beresford, Sean Kent, Jake O’Riordan, Tiernan Fagan, Cian Fagan.

Under 16
Our under 16 hurlers were defeated this week by Lismore in semi final of the Western championship.

Harty Cup
Coláistí na nDéise kick off their defence of their Harty Cup crown today against Doon CBS. We are well represented here with many club members in action and we would like to wish the team best of luck.  The game takes place in Golden and throws in at 2pm.

Under 10
We will have a couple of games coming up this week and notification will be sent by teamer.

Congratulations
Recently Shane Kiely (Scoil Mhuire) represented his school and club & county on All Ireland hurling final day. This was a big day out for this young player where he played prior to the All Ireland final. He was joined by players from all over the country representing their schools and did himself proud on the field of dreams, a memory he will treasure for many a year.

Our under 14’s travelled to Kill last Wednesday to take on De La Salle in the division 1 semi final. Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way and a very good De La Salle ran out winners. This was a great achievement for the players and management to get this far and with a lot of players still under 14 next year, hopefully we will go one better. Thanks to all management and players for their efforts during the year.

Most of our under 14’s then had to pick themselves up for a Western Final this past Saturday. We had two teams involved here. Our division 1 had a very impressive victory over neighbours Dungarvan on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-5.
Our division 3 team were narrowly beaten after extra time by Ballyduff Upper on a scoreline of 2-7 to 2-5.

Joker Jackpot Won
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €2,000 as this week Fred and Sheila Riordan were drawn out of the drum and behind her number 20 was indeed the joker so she scooped the Jackpot of €12,666 while Mike Kiely and Billy Butler won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.

Senior Hurling
On Saturday evening last we took on Fourmilewater in Fraher Field in the quarter final of the County Championship and at the end of a tight game we were defeated by four points. Whilst defeat was our lot on the night the players did themselves and the club proud not only on the night but all through the Championship and the club would like to thank them and the management team for their commitment all year. Unfortunately we were hit hard by emigration and injury this year but this did allow more players to play Senior Championship with a total of 25 players seeing Championship action during the year which offers hope for the future.

To Paddy and Tony, the Kilkenny and Galway men who travelled to Croke Park together last Sunday to see their respective counties serve up a cracker ye will have to do it all again.
