‘Win A House In Waterford’ Draw
We ask all our supporters to please support the
Win a House in Waterford draw, which is ongoing at present. Along with our Camogie and Ladies Football
clubs, we are seeking to raise enough money through this draw to build toilets
and dugout on our new pitch. As well as
having a chance to win a fantastic prize you will be helping us provide better
facilities for all our members.
Tickets are available from any club committee
member or online at www.winahoiseinwaterford.com. If purchasing online, please remember to use
the drop-down menu to select Abbeyside Ballinacourty as your club.
Membership
With the new season rapidly approaching, we would like
to emphasis the importance of getting your membership paid as soon as possible. If you
have not already done so, please contact our membership officer Kevin Tobin on
087 9954448 to arrange payment. From a playing perspective it is compulsory
that you are a member as it ensures you are included in the insurance scheme. Rates for this year are Adult €150 / Student
€75, Married Couple (non-playing) €70, Single (non-playing) €50 and OAP €40. Of
course, members of our 300 Club are fully covered.
Academy
Update
Last
Saturday morning, our academy kicked off with great enthusiasm under a
beautiful, sunny sky. The weather was
perfect, adding to the excitement and energy of the day. It was heartwarming to see our youngest
players eagerly taking to the astro turf pitch right after our seniors had
finished their S&C session. Watching
the academy boys train after the seniors beautifully demonstrated the full
cycle of a club playing career, and hopefully all of our new players will have
a long career with the club, playing into adulthood.
Across
all the teams, juvenile and adult, it has been our U7's that have seen the most
on-field action so far in 2025. They've
been on the road for the last two Saturdays, playing hurling on Bohadoon (Sat
22nd) and football on (Sat 1st). The
boys have really been enjoying the blitzes put on by Deise Óg and are looking
forward to a summer of fun and games.
Saturday
was a busy day for the U8 boys. They had
their first academy session on Saturday morning and it was fantastic to see
such a big attendance. A few hours later
they took to the big stage under lights in Fraher Field, at half time in the
Waterford vs Wexford national football league match. There was fierce excitement and energy from
the Ballinacourty boys and they really enjoyed the experience. Playing at half time in games like this is a
very welcome initiative from Deise Óg and we look forward to further
opportunities during the year.

U13
After
a false start last weekend due to weather warnings, our U13 footballers (div 1)
got their championship up and running with an away fixture in Rathgormack. In what was a very tight contest, our boys
lost by a single score 3-09 to 2-09.
County
Action
On
Sunday morning in Carriganore we had boys representing their county against
Dublin in U14 and U16 hurling. For the
U14's we had Luke Fitzgerald, Lachlainn Hurney, Tadgh O'Connor, Dara Power and
Luke Walsh, while for the U16's we had Alex Doyle, Owen Morrissey, Coleman
Radley and Darragh Sullivan. Jack Hurney
would have been togged out for the U16's but he's recovering from an injury. We're looking forward to Jack making a full
recovery and getting back on the field. Well
done to all the boys.
