This week's photo shows the Abbeyside Minor Hurling team on the occasion of the 1970 County Final in Fraher Field. Having defeated Lismore in the Western Final, 5-8 to 1-9, they went on to take the County title with a 5-6 to 2-2 victory over Clann na nGael. In football they saw off Affane, 0-7 to 1-2 in the Western Final before going on to defeat Clann na nGael at Walsh Park in the County decider on a scoreline of 3-3 to 1-5. This was the first occasion that the club won a county double in the minor grade.
