Club Notes - 28th March

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to express our sincere sympathies to Patrick Enright, the Walsh and Enright families on the tragic deaths of Mary Enright (nee Walsh) and baby Mollie on Monday last.  We also wish Jack Leacy well in his recovery from injury. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this most difficult time.

Joker Fundraiser
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €5,234. This week Sheila Riordan was drawn out of the drum but did not find the joker but did win €50 while Gikey Ferncombe and Sarah Clancy won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo will return to the CBS Hall this Sunday night after a very successful Monster Bingo in The Park Hotel last Sunday evening.  We would like to thank all those who supported the Monster Bingo and all the staff of the Park Hotel for their help on the day.

Under 21 Football
The County Final of the Under 21 Football Championship has been fixed for Easter Sunday in Walsh Park.

Booking of Pitches
We would like to ask all team managers to please ensure that they have booked the pitch with Bernard Shields before they arrange training sessions.

Membership
Please note that membership can now be paid to Jonathan O’Donovan or any member of the committee.

ise Development Draw
It is that time of year again when our promoters are out on the doorsteps of the parish promoting the 2012 Déise Development Draw. The format is similar to previous years with a nine month draw costing ten euro a month to join. Whilst the board retains some of the money to cover prizes etc the draw is crucial to helping us meet the costs involved in running our club in these difficult times. We would ask all our loyal supporters to please continue to support the draw as best they can, and if you have not been approached to join the draw but wish to do so then please don’t hesitate to approach any club committee member.

Club Website
Our club website has undergone a major renovation recently and is well worth a visit to catch up on all the upcoming fixtures and recent results as well as containing some photos from previous years. Log onto www.abbeycourtygaa.com to see for yourself.

Club Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the club committee will take place in The Parish Office on Thursday night March 29th at 8 pm.

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.

Strategic Plan
Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
