Club Notes - 24th August

Jack The Joker
No. Drawn - 12
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Alice O’Connors where the jackpot is €8,000 as on Sunday night Bernard Shields was drawn out of the drum and chose card number 12, which when turned was not the Joker though he did win €50. Louis and Chopper and Ciara Clancy won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Convenience Store Ballinroad, Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar, Abbeyside Post Office and Crotty’s Corner Bar.

Congratulations
On behalf of all in the club we would like to congratulate Conor Prunty and all the County Under 21 hurlers on their All Ireland Semi Final victory against Antrim last Saturday in Thurles.

Senior Hurling
On Friday night last we played Passage in the Sargent Cup semi final in Fraher Field in very difficult weather conditions, at the end of which it was our opponents who came away with the victory.

This Friday night we play Tallow in Fraher Field at 8:30 in the third round of the County Championship.

Junior A Hurling
Our Junior hurlers had a very good win over Tourin at 1:30 in Bushy Park in our third game of the Western Championship on Sunday last. This win means that if we defeat Geraldines this Saturday evening in Bushy Park at 6:30 we will qualify for the semi finals of the championship.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo will continue this Sunday night, with a return to the CBS Hall where the jackpot is €400.


Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
