Club Notes - 4th April


Jack The Joker
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Alice O’Connor’s Bar where the jackpot is €9200 as on Sunday night Anthony O’Grady was drawn out of the drum and chose card number 8 which when turned was not the joker but he did win €50. Breda Walsh & Hiker McGrath won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar, Abbeyside Post Office and Crotty’s Bar.

Senior Hurling
On Sunday afternoon last we opened our Senior Hurling championship campaign when we took on Ballygunner in Fraher Field. Despite a good performance from the team it was our opponents who emerged victorious.  This Thursday night we play Ballyduff Upper in Fraher Field at 8pm.

Junior Hurling
On Sunday morning our Junior C hurlers played their first game in the Western Championship when they defeated Clashmore in An Rinn.  This Sunday morning they take on Brickey Rangers in Dungarvan Club Grounds at 11:30 am.
On Saturday our Junior A hurlers play Geraldines in Bushy Park at 3pm.

Booking of Pitches
As our teams return to training we would like to remind all our coaches to please ensure that they book the pitches with Michael O’Donovan before training.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo session continues in the CBS Hall this Sunday night with a jackpot of €1950.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the late Biddy Drohan, Ballinroad who passed away last week. Biddy's family are great supporters of our club and her grandsons have won many honours in the club colours.


Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.

Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
