Déise Draw
The fourth Déise Draw of the year took place
yesterday live on WLR. The club had two
winners. Congratulations to Jonathan
O'Donovan who won €1000 and to Michael Coleman who won €250. Thanks to everyone who bought and sold
tickets. Your support is greatly
appreciated. There are two draws left in
the series and if anyone would like to buy a ticket, please contact any
committee member. The next draw takes
place on Friday, 18th October.
Academy
Saturday
morning at the field was quieter than usual but only because we had lots of
boys on the road playing blitzes and tournaments. The academy will continue well into October so
it's not too late to join us if you have a son that's interested.
U5
& U6 Blitz
There
was great excitement for our under 5s and 6s at the weekend when we took part
in a very well organised blitz in Kilmacthomas GAA pitch.
Our
under 5 team wearing the Abbeyside jerseys played against Kilrossanty,
Stradbally and Gautier in three very entertaining matches.
The
under 6 team donned the Ballinacourty jerseys and played some great football
against Portlaw, St. Saviours and Kilrossanty. Playing matches is what it's all
about so well done to the boys and also well done to the coaches for
facilitating.

U10
The
U10 boys headed across the border to Clonmel on Saturday morning to take part
in the annual Frank Maher hurling tournament which was hosted by St. Mary's
hurling club. Play started at 10:30am and the boys played four rounds of
matches against St. Mary's, St. Josephs Doora/Bearfield and St. John's
Ballinteer. It was a really well run
tournament and the Village boys had a great morning. The boys now return to prepare for the final
two rounds of the Deise Óg U10 league.
