Féile na nGael - Day 2

Day 2 of action at this year's Féile na nGael began with a cracking contest at the Burgery between ourselves and Abbeyleix. At the end of the game we emerged victorious by a single point, 2-5 to 1-7.

Our reward for winning all three groups games and topping the standings was a home quarter final against St. Mary's from Clonmel. A super performance saw us win by 3-10 to 0-5.

Next up for the boys was a trip to Cahir for a semi final against JK Brackens from Templemore. A heartbreaking one point defeat, 2-6 to 2-5 ended our involvement in this year's Féile but the lads and management team can be rightly proud of their achievements over the last few days.

The club would like to thank each and every person who helped in any way with hosting the Féile. A huge amount of organisation went into event and the success achieved could not have happened without all this voluntary work. Many thanks to all.

Finally, we would like to thank Abbeyleix GAA Club for their support during their stay in Abbeyside. It was truly a pleasure to have hosted such wonderful young lads and their mentors. We wish them well in their championships this year and hopefully the friendships forged over the weekend will be strengthened in the time to come.
