Club Notes - 19th August

Championship 2020
In what can only be described as a disappointing weekend our three adult hurling teams departed their respective championships. We’d like to thank the players and mentors for the massive effort put in over the season. We’ll regroup over the winter and be back next year with renewed enthusiasm. However, we can’t afford to dwell on if’s and buts and maybes, focus switches immediately to football and with Senior, Intermediate and Junior teams fielding it will be all systems go for the next few weeks.

Minor Hurling
The minor hurlers pit in an excellent performance last Thursday in Carrickbeg to defeat De La Salle 0-19 – 01-09. We know face Ballygunner in the County Final in Fraher Field on Wednesday 19th August at 6.30. We wish all involved the very best of luck. Just a reminder that this game is all ticket.
There is no let up for the lads then as on Monday the 24th we begin our football campaign with a game versus St Pats / Naomh Brid.

Deise Draw 2020
Just a reminder once again that the revised Deise Draw will kick off on August 26th. Over the coming weeks we will be making a big effort in this regard as it is one of our primary fundraising streams. We’d appeal to all our members and supporters to purchase a ticket from any committee member.

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker relaunch took place in Minnies on Monday night last. Stags & Gerry were drawn and pick number 34. This however wasn’t the Joker but the lads did win €50. Consequently, the jackpot rolls on to next week and will be €2,900. Gail Sandford and Tiernan Murray also won €25.
