Club Notes - 7th October

Covid Update

We received word from Croke Park Monday lunchtime that all GAA games suspended with immediate effect. Whilst obviously disappointed given the upcoming County Final we will of course adhere stringently to the new guideline as the safety of players and members is our number 1 priority.  We will of course provide updates as they become available.

Senior Football

The Senior footballers put in a fine display against The Nire last Saturday to book a place in the County Final. On what was a perfect evening for football both teams produced an exciting game with the result in doubt right up to the end. After a slow start we began to grow into the game as the 1st half progressed and then flew out of the block in the 2nd half and established a game winning lead before the water break.

We now face off against Rathgormack in a repeat of last year’s final. This was of course originally fixed for Walsh Park next Saturday, but as outlined above the game cannot now go ahead. As of now we don’t know when the game will take place but as stated above we’ll provide updates as and when they become available.

Deise Draw 2020

The 3rd draw will take place in the coming weeks. As this is one of our primary fundraising streams, we’d appeal to all our members and supporters to purchase a ticket from any committee member or promoter if you haven’t already done so.

Jack The Joker

The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place in Minnies on Monday night last. Neil Moore was drawn and picked number 11. This however wasn’t the Joker but he did win €50. Consequently, the jackpot rolls on to next week and will be €3,600. Evan Collins and Michael O Halloran also won €25.
