Club Notes - 16th June

County Leagues
The playing season for our adult teams kicked off last weekend with the beginning of the county leagues for 2021. First into action were our Senior footballers who recorded a good win over Clashmore on Friday evening whist the Intermediate team defeated Sliabh gCua in the club grounds on Saturday.
We continue this week when the hurlers enter the fray. On Friday evening at 7.45 we have a home fixture versus De La Salle in the Senior league, whilst the Junior’s also have a home game versus Roanmore B on Sunday at 12.00.

Membership
As we return, we would like to emphasis the importance of getting your membership paid as soon as possible. If you have not already done so, please contact our membership officer Kevin Tobin on 087 9954448 to arrange payment. From a playing perspective it is compulsory that you are a member as it ensures you are included in the insurance scheme. Rates for this year are Adult €150 / Student €75, Married Couple (non-playing) €70, Single (non-playing) €50 and OAP €40. Of course, members of our 300 Club are fully covered.
Kevin will be in the club grounds this coming Saturday between 10.00 and 11.30 to collect membership.

Intercounty
The Waterford Senior hurlers recorded a god win over Tipperary on Sunday last. There is a 2 week break now until the beginning of the Munster Championship and we wish all involved the best in their preparations.  The footballers put in a good performance against Antrim on Sunday also, but unfortunately came out on the wrong side of the result. Again, there is a 2-week break before Clare again provide the opposition in the 1st round of the Munster championship. Hopefully, preparations go well in the interim.

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. Darrel Ryan was drawn and picked number 34. When turned this was not the Joker, but he did win €50. Brian Looby and Yvonne Sheehan won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €4,100.

We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve.
