Academy
The young boys of our academy played their annual "Mini All Irelands" tournament on Sunday morning. Almost 120 village hurlers took to the field and had great fun while being cheered on by a massive crowd. Full photo report next week and keep an eye on our social media for some great photos and videos.

U11
Last Friday evening saw a hive of activity over at the pitch with both our under 11 teams out in action against Dungarvan and Ballygunner. The boys put in a great effort despite the heat and all four teams put on a great display of hurling. Thanks to all who came out to shout on the lads!

U11 Hurlers

U12
The U12 boys continue their hurling programme and had a good run out against our neighbours Dungarvan on Friday evening. They await a fixture for the last match in the round robin stage of the U12 all county league, when they will play Mount Sion.

U13
Our U13 hurlers got the division 1 championship of to a start with a loss to a strong Ballygunner side but the attitude of the Abbeyside boys couldn't be faulted. They've only had just over three weeks to prepare for championship since they played the division 1 county football final, so they're still playing catch up against the city teams. Our lads love their hurling and will have a good crack at it through the summer.
They travel to Tramore on Tuesday 13th to play round two.

U15
Both of our U15 teams are training well and will have had four challenge matches played before the commencement of their championships on Monday 26th June. Also, thanks to the senior panel for their generous donation of sliotars to the U15 panels. It's very much appreciated.

U14
We had five boys representing our club on the Waterford U14 panel on Saturday in the Fraher Field. Alex Doyle, Coleman Radley, Dara Sullivan (missed out though injury) and Seán Óg O' Regan took on the Tipperary u14 boys in two well contested games. Well done boys and good luck with the remainder of the season.

Condolences
On behalf of all in our club we wish to extend our sympathy to the Byrne family on the death of Johnny Byrne who passed away this week. Johnny's family have strong connections with our club for many years with his grandsons continuing to play for our club, whilst his wife Lenore helped with many fundraising events for our club, especially helping with the development of our current club grounds.
We send our deepest sympathies to all the Byrne family but especially to Lenore and their children Liam, Pat, Maura, John, Gearoid, Helena, Mairead and Michael.

We also send our sympathies to the Cliffe family on the death of John Cliffe in England this week. Prior to moving to our present club grounds, Cliffe's field was our home for many years. John's brother Larry is still centrally involved in our club, whilst his nephews and grand nephews continue to train and play for our club teams. We send our sympathies to the wider Cliffe family, but especially John's brothers to Larry and Maurice and his sisters Mary and Theresa.

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.

Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
