U9 Hurlers
On Saturday our U9’s welcomed Youghal for a competitive
morning of hurling. Each of our three teams competed well in all of their
games. The progress is visible and the boys are really enjoying competing
against other clubs. Training will continue on Thursday evenings and Saturday
mornings.
WellKids
The WellKids programme will be running in the club
again this July and August.
WellKids is an initiative introduced by Déise Óg
which introduces children aged 4-6 to GAA activities in a fun games based
approach.
So if your child was born in 2017, 2018 or 2019
then this is a great chance for them to try out GAA.
Where: AstroTurf in Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA
grounds.
When: 10:30-11:30 on Saturday mornings for July and
August.
Bring: A water bottle (labelled)
No extra equipment is needed but feel free to bring
a hurley and helmet if you have them.
If you have any questions or your child is older
and wants to try GAA then please email abbeycourtygaajuvenilesec@gmail.com
Camogie News
Another
active week for the club!
This week
our U8's had the honour of playing at half time in the SETU Arena during the
Waterford vs Antrim Senior camogie game. Great excitement as the girls formed a
guard of honour for the girls as they ran out onto the pitch. A great day was
had by all, and a big thanks to Waterford camogie, the coaches, parents and
guardians for helping to make it happen!
Huge
congratulations to our own Dearbhla Beresford and Megan O’Regan representing
Abbeyside on the team, well done girls and thank you for all the hurley and
jersey signing after the game!
U15 Camogie
Well done
also to Sophie Norris and Abbie ODonnell representing Abbeyside on the
Waterford U15 camogie panel, keep up the great work!
