Academy Update
Our academy for boys ten years old and younger, continues every Saturday morning from 10am.  The weather impacted blitzes again this weekend with our U9’s missing out on a trip to Clonmel Commercials to take part in a tournament and our U10’s having to call off a blitz with James Stephens.

U14
Our U14 division 1 hurlers hosted De la Salle on Saturday morning in conditions that were less than ideal for hurling.  It was nip and tuck throughout the match with De la Salle taking the victory
Our division 3 team were due to play Micheal McCraith Tramore on Saturday evening but due to the heavy rain this match was rescheduled to Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.

U15 County Final
Our U15 hurlers played Clan na Gael on Monday (25th September) in Páirc Uí Siothcáin out in Rinn.  The match was played out in front of a large crowd under the impressive new flood lights.  The Abbeyside boys contested well but were struck with a clutch goal just before half time.  Clan na Gael, who were physically big and strong, played with the breeze in the second half and were able to pull away to take the victory.  Our boys didn’t give up though and kept fighting to the end.  Their efforts were rewarded with a few late scores which demonstrated the spirit in the team.
The result doesn’t define the season for the U15’s.  They had a good year and have shown impressive development that they will build on for next season.  Well done to the players the backroom team.
