Club Notes - 18th July


Joker Jackpot Continues to Rise
No. Drawn - 23
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €10,354. This week Kay O’Connor was drawn out of the drum but did not find the joker but did win €50 while Tom Foley and Tom Daley €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.



Senior Football
We defeated Rathgormack in the Phelan Cup on Friday night last in Rathgormack on a score of 1-12 to 0-09 and we now advance to the next round of this competition.

Intermediate Football
On Saturday afternoon last we defeated Ballinameela in the Fraher Field in our second last game of the Western Championship League Section on a score of 2-12 to 0-07. This result means that we will advance to the semi finals of the championship.

Junior Hurling
This Sunday we play Melleray in our final group game of the Western Championship in Cappoquin at 7 pm.

Senior Hurling
We play this Dungarvan this Sunday in the County League in Abbeyside.

All Ireland Quarter Final
Any member who requires tickets for the All Ireland quarter final must have their order with Bernard Shields by this Thursday at 8 pm.

Congratulations
On behalf of all in the Club we would like to congratulate John Organ and Aisling Dwane on their marriage over the weekend. John played for the club for many years and captained us to County Titles at under 14 and Intermediate football.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo will continue in the CBS Hall this Sunday night where the Jackpot is €1,100.

Booking of Pitches
We would like to ask all team managers to please ensure that they have booked the pitch with Bernard Shields before they arrange training sessions.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the late Jack Flanagan, Ballinacourty. Jack was generous supporter of the club and we send our sympathies to his wife Pat and all his family during this difficult time.
Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
