Club Notes - 16th September

Jack The Joker
No. Drawn - 32
Our ever popular Jack the Joker fundraiser continues this Sunday night in Minnies Bar where the jackpot is €5,200 as on Sunday night last Martin Crotty was drawn out of the drum and chose card number 32 which wasn’t the Joker although he did win €50. Seanu Kiely and Nuala Foley won €25 each. As well as our group of ticket sellers tickets can be purchased from Convenience Store Ballinroad, Village Flowers, Spar, Mousies Takeaway, Minnies Bar and Crotty’s Corner Bar.


Senior Hurling
On Saturday evening last we exited the Senior Hurling Championship as we were defeated by Ballyduff Upper in Lismore after a hard fought encounter. We would like to thank the players and management team for their effort and commitment throughout the year.

Junior Hurling
Both of our Junior Hurling teams were in Championship action last weekend where they met with mixed success. Firstly on Saturday afternoon our Junior B team recorded a very good win over Ballysaggart in Colligan in the Western Quarter Final. They now advance to the Western Semi Final where they take on Shamrocks.

Then on Sunday evening our Junior A team took on a strong Colligan side in the Western Semi Final in Fraher Field. After a poor first half performance we were left with facing a large deficit in the second half but the team showed great character in the second half to get back into the match before Colligan finished strongly to run out deserving winners.

Club Bingo
Our Club Bingo will continue this Sunday night in the CBS Hall where the jackpot is €1,050.


Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
