Club Notes - 10th March

Jack The Joker

The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. Henry Shields was drawn and picked number 12. When turned this was not the Joker, but he did win €50. Roisin Briggs and Ger Darcy won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €2,700.

Memory Lane

Over the past few week’s bingo mania has been sweeping the parish with our now regular online Saturday night games proving extremely popular with both young and old alike. Indeed, what is most notable is the number of newcomers who are taking part, players who a few weeks ago didn’t know their top of the house from the key to the door are now experts.

This is our 1st foray into the online sphere but going back over 50 years the club have had a very strong bingo tradition. Pictured are details of the first game we promoted back in June 1970, with Mrs. Flynn Murphy’s Place picking up the full house prize of £15.

Mini Bingo 1970

Subsequent to this of course we progressed onto our customary Sunday night slot in various halls around town throughout the 80’s to the present day where, up until Covid intervened, the CBS were our hosts. Whilst the online games have been a great success and are proving a great source of enjoyment for so many people, we of course look forward to the day when we can welcome everyone back in person, In the meantime, it’s eyes down every Saturday at 8pm.

St Patrick’s Bingo Bonanza

On Saturday night next, Abbeyside Ballinacourty GAA All-Star Online Bingo will host a St. Patricks Bingo Bonanza. This is the perfect opportunity for all members of our local community at home and abroad to join us for the night to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together and be in with a chance of winning some of our €3,000 prize fund

Our 9 game Bingo will consist of 4 €180 games, 2 €260 games, 1 €400 game with an extra €250 in 48 calls and 2 €680 games! There will also be spot prizes sponsored by local businesses at various stages of the night. This promises to an extra special Bingo night and we hope that everybody will be able to join us.

Books are available to purchase through the following link and cost €15 for a Single and €20 for a Double Book. bit.ly/abbeysidebingo. Due to the amount of books already ordered for Saturday night, people are encouraged to order their books as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Books will be emailed to those who purchase after 2pm on Saturday.

Congratulations to Larry Cliffe who was our Hamper winner this week, kindly sponsored by Ballinacourty Produce, and to Aaron Beresford who won €250 in our big game
