Club Notes - 31st March
Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took
place on Monday night last. Mikey Briggs was drawn and picked number 43. When
turned this was not the Joker, but he did win €50. Olivia Shields and Tony Elstead
won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €3,000.
Antisocial Behaviour
On Saturday night last unfortunately, we were the victims of some
unwanted activity at our grounds. As a club we pride ourselves on being wholly
inclusive and welcoming to all and any. Our facilities are for everybody in our
community to enjoy so it is therefore soul destroying to see elements within
this community acting in such a self-absorbed and abhorrent manner. What
occurred can only be classed as vandalism plain and simple and anyone who had a
hand to play in this should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. We have called
the Burgery home for over 40 years and in that time the gate has never been
locked. We truly hope we are not forced to do so anytime in the future.
Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we’d like to expend our deepest sympathies
to the family and friends of Biddy Whelan and Ellen Jordan who both
unfortunately passed away recently.
