Club Notes - 31st March

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. Mikey Briggs was drawn and picked number 43. When turned this was not the Joker, but he did win €50. Olivia Shields and Tony Elstead won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €3,000.

Antisocial Behaviour
On Saturday night last unfortunately, we were the victims of some unwanted activity at our grounds. As a club we pride ourselves on being wholly inclusive and welcoming to all and any. Our facilities are for everybody in our community to enjoy so it is therefore soul destroying to see elements within this community acting in such a self-absorbed and abhorrent manner. What occurred can only be classed as vandalism plain and simple and anyone who had a hand to play in this should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. We have called the Burgery home for over 40 years and in that time the gate has never been locked. We truly hope we are not forced to do so anytime in the future.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we’d like to expend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Biddy Whelan and Ellen Jordan who both unfortunately passed away recently.

All Star Bingo
Our All-Star Online Abbeyside Ballinacourty Big Bingo with €3,000 prize fund was a huge success last Saturday night. We had another 30 winners sharing a total of €3,000 between them. Louise McHugh and Susie Whelan were our big winners on the night scooping €500 each in our two main games.

We have now given out more than €17,000 in prize money since our Online Bingo started on 6th February last. While everybody has not had a chance to win yet, the feedback from players has been extremely positive and we thank you all most sincerely for your support.

Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
