Club Notes - 7th November

Jack The Joker
No. Drawn - 6
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in Kennedy’s Live at 8pm where the Jackpot will be €4,422 as on Sunday night Johnny Shields was drawn out of the drum but did not find the Joker, however he does win €50, while Alice O’Connor and Kathleen Collins won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.

The Brawl in the Hall
Our club has teamed up with Brickey Rangers in a novel fundraising event called “The Brawl in the Hall” organised by White Collar Boxing.  Twelve boxers from each club will square up to one another in three 1½ minute rounds of action.  Training will commence in the near future so all boxers will be in prime condition in time for the big night.  The event takes place on Saturday, 15th December at Dungarvan Sports Centre with tickets priced at €10.  These will be available shortly.  More details to follow in the coming weeks.

Notification for the upcoming AGM which will take place on December 8th at 8pm in Abbeyside School has been delivered to all members.  Any member who supplied an email address on their membership form earlier in the year will have been notified by email.  If any member failed to receive notification, please contact the club secretary to obtain notification.

Best Wishes
On behalf of all in the club we would like to wish John Phelan the very best of luck as he has recently headed to Australia to take up employment. John has been an ever present on both our adult hurling and football teams for many years now since he was part of the side that won the Intermediate County Football title in 1998. John went on to win Intermediate Hurling and Senior Football titles with us and whilst he will be a huge loss to us in the club we wish him the very best in Australia.
Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse
Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
Strategic Plan
Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
