This week's photo features the Abbeyside Minor Football panel that won the Western Title in 1979. Early round victories over Lismore, Dungarvan, St. Oliver's and Affane meant a Western Final meeting with Kilrossanty at Fraher Field in August. A three point, 1-6 to 1-3 victory secured a tenth divisional title at this grade. Unfortunately, the lads were defeated six weeks later in the county decider by De La Salle.
