Club Notes - 9th September

Championship
The 2020 football championships kicked off last weekend with all 3 of our adult teams in action. First into the fray were the Senior team who put in a solid hour and saw off a determined Ardmore challenge on a score line of 3-17 to 1-07. Bigger tests lie ahead and on Sunday next Clashmore provide the opposition in what should be a proper championship tussle. On Sunday the Intermediate and Junior A teams were in action and despite putting in commendable performances both had to give best to Modeligo and Kilgobnet respectively. As is the nature of this year’s championship structure there is no time for retrospection, and both are straight back into the fray. The Juniors play Tallow on Thursday whilst the Intermediates have a do or die tussle against our old friends from across the bridge on Saturday. We wish all involved the very best of luck.

Deise Draw 2020
The 2nd draw will take place in the coming weeks. As this is one of our primary fundraising streams, we’d appeal to all our members and supporters to purchase a ticket from any committee member or promoter if you haven’t already done so.

Jack The Joker
The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place in Minnies on Monday night last. Pakie Lynch was drawn and picked number 20. This however wasn’t the Joker but he did win €50. Consequently, the jackpot rolls on to next week and will be €3,200. Michael McGrath and Roisin Briggs also won €25.

Best of Luck
Last Saturday the Junior camogie team had a tremendous victory in over Portlaw in the Co Semi Final. On behalf of everyone in the club we’d like to wish the girls all the best in the Co Final against The Brickies next Saturday.
