Club Notes - 15th September

Championship 2021
We are now at the business end of the hurling championship season and we still have 3 teams alive and kicking.
The Junior A team had a great victory over Kilrossanty in the Western Quarter final last Saturday and now face the challenge of The Brickies this coming Saturday. Having played out a draw in the group stages we are expecting another tough game. This game is in Colligan at 14.00 which means we’ll have a bit of time for a quick bite to eat before heading to Carrickbeg where the Minors are taking on De La Salle in the County A semi-final at 18.15. This is a repeat of last years semi final where we came out on top after a terrific game. Hopefully we will see a repeat this weekend.
Then of course there is the small matter of a Senior Hurling Quarter Final against Dungarvan on Sunday. As with every derby previews will be written and the match played numerous times beforehand on the street corners & local hostelries with rumours abounding on both sides of the bridge of serious injuries etc. However, at the end of the day it’ll come down to 14.00 Sunday in Fraher Field.  Knockout championship: you can’t beat it!!
Best of luck to all the teams and all going well we’ll have a lot more to look forward next week.
