We also held our first Monster Bingo in over 2 years in the Park Hotel last Sunday and we’d like to thank all who helped out on the day and of course all the players who attended.
Medal Presentation
The medal presentation for our Senior Footballer and U-20’s will take place this coming Saturday in Minnies at 7pm. All are welcome to attend what promises to be a great night.
With the new season rapidly approaching, we would like to emphasis the importance of getting your membership paid as soon as possible. If you have not already done so, please contact our membership officer Kevin Tobin on 087 9954448 to arrange payment. From a playing perspective it is compulsory that you are a member as it ensures you are included in the insurance scheme. Rates for this year are Adult €150 / Student €75, Married Couple (non-playing) €70, Single (non-playing) €50 and OAP €40. Of course, members of our 300 Club are fully covered.
U15 Football Championship
Our division 1 team had a good start to their campaign, recording a 6-12 to 0-02 win over Gaultier. There's a lot more hard work to be put in but it was a great team performance and they now begin preparations for their next opponents, Tramore, this weekend.
Our division 4 team put in a spirited display against Naomh Brid in their first outing last Sunday morning in Modeligo. The result didn't go their way, losing 2-09 to 1-03, but a lot of these boys are under 15 again next year so each time they line out together they gain valuable experience.
It's great to see that our policy of developing our young players is being advanced through entering two teams at each age group in the juvenile championships. This means that all of our young players get as much game time as possible and have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. Well done to all the boys and we look forward to following their journey through the year.
Academy Update - Nursery
We have started back with our U5/6 boys, and we are full steam ahead. We had 32 at last Saturday’s session. The lads are having great fun enjoying the various activities and games with our coaches. We are using stations to practice the basic skills of catching, kicking, running, and socialising, with a mixture of fun and mayhem thrown in for good measure. We’ll see everyone back on next Saturday the 11th at 10:30. Any newcomers always welcome. You can contact us through our Facebook page or by emailing
The Waterford Senior hurlers were both in action last weekend. With our own Conor Prunty, Neil Montgomery and Michael Kiely all contributing to a great win over Tipperary. There’s a two week break now before the trip to Kilkenny.
The footballers meanwhile are in action versus Wexford this coming Sunday.
Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse
Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
Strategic Plan
Past generations have had their visions for the future of our club. These are our current aims and with these achieved we hope to hand on the club to future generations in the same healthy state it was passed onto us.
