Club Notes - 2nd March

Club Lotto
Our weekly lotto continues on Monday night next. Next week's Jackpot will be €1,200.

Under 15 Championship
Our U15 footballers play the first round of the championship next Sunday. We will have two Ballinacourty teams in action on the day, with one playing Naomh Bhríd in Modeligo at 11am and the other playing Gaultier at our club grounds at 6pm. Please get out and support the boys as they have been putting in a lot of hard work over the last number of weeks. Best of luck to all involved!

Academy News
It was great to see our club grounds burst to life again on Saturday morning with the start of our 2022 academy. It was definitely more like winter than spring with a cold blustery wind but none the less, our young hurlers and footballers turned out in their droves.
Over 100 boys from ages 5 to 10 had great craic and enjoyed their morning thanks to well organized, fun filled sessions with our coaches. Well done to all the boys and see you next week again.
Thanks also to the crew that organized refreshments to provide treats for the players and much needed tea and coffee for the parents!
It was great to see so many new faces and new members are always welcome so come along any Saturday morning to join in the fun. If you want to find out more, contact us through our Facebook page or by emailing abbeycourtyjuvenilesec@gmail.com.

Bingo
Sunday Night Bingo continues continue every Sunday at 8pm.

Intercounty
The Waterford Senior footballers and hurlers were both in action last weekend. The footballers with our own Brian Looby, John Elstead and Aaron Beresford onboard, were in action versus Leitrim in Fraher Field where unfortunately they were beaten.
The hurlers meanwhile made the long trip north to Belfast where they faced Antrim. After a good game they came away with a 2 point victory, with Conor Prunty, Neil Montgomery and Michael Kiley all contributing to the win.
This Sunday Tipperary are the opposition in Walsh Park.

Sympathy
On behalf of everyone in the club we’d like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Tom Tobin who passed away last week. Tom was a brother of committee member Kevin Tobin.
