Club Notes - 15th August


Joker Jackpot Continues to Rise
No. Drawn - 41
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €11,630. This week Barry Hannigan was drawn out of the drum but did not find the joker but did win €50 while Dorren Geoghan and the Kevin Keating won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.


Senior Football
We defeated Gaultier in our second last game of the group stage of the County Championship in Walsh Park on Saturday evening last on a scoreline of 0-15 to 2-07. This win means that we have now qualified for the knock out stages of the championship. This Saturday night we play Ardmore in Fraher Field at 7pm.

Junior Football
On Friday night last our Junior Footballers had a very good victory over Geraldines in the Western Semi Final on a score line of 1-07 to 0-07 and they now play Ballinameela in the Western Final this Sunday morning at 12pm in Bushy Park.

Club Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the Club Committee will take place this Thursday night at 8pm in the Club Grounds.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo will continue in the CBS Hall this Sunday night where the Jackpot is €1,250.

Congratulations
On behalf of all in the club we would like to congratulate Donnacha O’Dea and Carolyn O’Connor on their marriage over the last weekend.

New Arrival
On behalf of all in the club we would like to congratulate Lorna and Eoin Daly on the birth of their baby daughter Katie last week.

Booking of Pitches
We would like to ask all team managers to please ensure that they have booked the pitch with Bernard Shields before they arrange training sessions.

Sympathy
On behalf of all in the club we would like to send our sympathies to the family and friends of the late Mary O’Dwyer nee Murray, Dungarvan who passed away recently. We would also like to send our sympathies to the Hennebry family, Knockanpower on the death of Mrs. Moll Hennebry who is the mother of our Juvenile Secretary, Carmel Power and whose Grandson Laurence Power is a member of our under 16 and minor teams. We also send our sympathies to the family and friends of the late Michael “Ducky” Ormonde, Lismore and also to the family and friends of the late Jim Nagle, Kyne Park who both passed away recently.
Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
