Club Notes - 16th May

Joker Fundraiser
No. Drawn - 34
Our popular Jack the Joker Fundraiser will continue this Sunday night in The Stables Bar where the Jackpot will be €7,318. This week Ann Fleming was drawn out of the drum but did not find the joker but did win €50 while Colin Byrne and Sarah Keane won €25. We appeal to all our supporters to continue purchasing the tickets as the funds raised will go towards our ongoing development works at the club grounds.


Senior Hurling
On Saturday evening last we defeated Passage in the second round of the County Championship in Walsh Park on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-13. Our next game is against Dungarvan in two weeks.

Intermediate Hurling
On Sunday last we took on Ballinamelia in the second round of the Western Championship in Cappoquin where despite a very brave performance by our young team we were defeated by a stronger Ballinamelia outfit. Our next game is in two weeks against Ardmore.

Junior Hurling
On Sunday last our Junior Hurling team opened their Championship Campaign against Shamrocks in Cappoquin where the team showed great determination to battle back into contention with the game reaching its conclusion, but unfortunately at the full time whistle we were defeated by three points.

Minor Football
We play Rathgormack tonight, Wednesday May 16th at 7:30 pm in Rathgormack.

Hurling League
This Saturday we take on Tallow in the County Hurling League in Abbeyside at 7:30 pm.

Best Wishes
On behalf of all in the club we would like to wish the Waterford Senior Footballers the best of luck ahead of their Munster Championship game against Limerick this Sunday where we have Shane Briggs, Patrick Hurney, Sean O’Hare, Mark Ferncombe and Stephen Enright on the panel.

Club Bingo
Our club bingo will continue in the CBS Hall this Sunday night where the Jackpot is €650.

Club Committee Meeting
The next meeting of the club committee will take place this Thursday night at 8pm in The Parish Office.

Booking of Pitches
We would like to ask all team managers to please ensure that they have booked the pitch with Bernard Shields before they arrange training sessions.
Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
