Juvenile Notes - 9th May


Under 9’s (players born in 2003)
Generally, hurling training on Wednesday evenings at 6.00pm – 7.00pm and Friday evening training from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.Teamers will be sent out for each session. Parents are asked to reply to the teamers after each text as each team are only allowed a certain number of free teamer texts.

Membership Forms
Membership forms and Code of Conduct forms for most age groups have been given out Coaches are asked for their assistance in getting this done in an orderly and efficient manner and parents/guardians and players are asked to sign, complete and return as soon as possible.
Many thanks to all of those who have already completed and returned their forms, your prompt co-operation is much appreciated.

Communions
Well done to all of our Abbeyside/Ballinacourty players who received their First Holy Communion recently. Training schedules for the kids in the under 9’s will be slightly different over the coming weeks as a result.
Teamers will be sent out as usual for training and matches.

Kelloggs GAA Cul Camps
A special promotion token is available of €5 on Cornflakes and Rice Krispies boxes to receive an online discount; 1 token per child can be used.  The annual camp takes place in our club from the 2nd of July to the 6th this year more details can be got from Carmel on 0872598923.

Under 7
A squad of 19 travelled to St Olivers pitch on the 26th of April to play an U-7 game. The group were divided into 2 teams with each playing 1 game each. The squad for the night:-

Under 13/14
We played both Dungarvan and Stradbally in under 14 football on Monday night both in Abbeyside.  First up was Dungarvan we got off to quick start here and were always in control to record a good win 3-11 to 0-1. In the division 3 game against Stradbally we also got off to a good start this was a much more competitive match with our lads battling to the end to record a 4-3 to 3-3. The next games in this championship is 12th May away to Lismore and Kilrossanty this is the final round.

On Sunday we competed in the Under 13 Football western semi finals in Division 1 & 3. We played St. Pats in Abbeyside, this was a tough competitive affair with scores scarce in the first half, and had a 6 point lead at half time.  In the second half we played better and came away with a win, with a score line of 2-10 to 0-5. Our second team travelled to Ardmore later that morning.  Our lads started well and the teams were evenly match of the first 15 mins, after this Adrmore scored a few quick goals and from the point were always in control, our boys battled to the end but it was the home team record a deserved win. 
We would like to thank Ardmore and Board na Og for allowing the game to re-scheduled to 1:30 to allow mentors and family to attend both games. We would also like to thank the families that changed their weekend plans to allow their sons play.

We play Lismore and Kilrosanty in Under 14 Football next Saturday.

U12/ U11
We travelled to neighbours last Friday evening to play Dungarvan in under 11 Hurling. Our lads played very well and were all ways in control and won 1-3 to 8-3. Our second team travelled to play St Pats in Div 3 and also had a good win.

Club History
Abbeyside / Ballinacourty GAA Club was formed in 1967 as a result of the amalgamation of Abbeyside Hurling and Football Clubs and Ballinacourty Football Club. It is situated within the Parish of Abbeyside, Ballinroad and Garranbane. Located on the eastern side of the River Colligan, it forms the northern and eastern shorelines of Dungarvan Harbour from Abbeyside Church to Ballinacourty Lighthouse

Development Fund
Abbeyside/Ballinacourty GAA Club has been growing at a dramatic pace over the past 10 years with the population of our parish increasing rapidly. We must ensure that we have the best facilities for all our players. We want to ensure that the next generation have the facilities that they need and deserve. We are asking supporters and friends to support this project over the next five years.
